Michael is responsible for the management and development of our global office network, with a firm focus upon maintaining a consistent and high quality of service to clients all over the world.
Michael joined Gleeds in 1999 to take responsibility for Gleeds’ mainland European operations and was appointed on the Executive Board in 2006. Under his direction the international business has continued to grow and represents nearly 40% of global turnover, with a total of 56 offices in 18 countries. He travels extensively to assess new opportunities for the international business, which currently manages a portfolio of £4.0BN worth of projects across most sectors.
Michael has significant experience in the commercial and hospitality sectors. This experience encompasses large and high profile projects in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Michael maintains a continued involvement in an advisory capacity to a number of our key clients.
Prior to Gleeds, Michael worked for Trafalgar House, a major international contractor, and Mandarin Oriental, a subsidiary of the Jardine Matheson group, based in Hong Kong. During this period Michael gained extensive experience throughout South-east Asia, working in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Myanmar, recognising the importance of understanding local environments.
