Past-president of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Atlanta), Richard joins the business from Pieper O’Brien Herr Architects where he held the position of principal and director of pre-design services. He brings with him over 35 years’ experience of guiding architects, engineers and consultants through the lifecycle of a project, from inception to completion.

In his new role as vice president with Gleeds, Richard will take on responsibility for overseeing project management services throughout the southeast. He will take an active role in formulating strategic business development initiatives and will utilise his knowledge and leadership skills to enhance the management of Gleeds’ growing footprint across the United States.

Richard’s architectural background gives him a unique perspective into the creative role architects bring to projects, assisting Gleeds by enhancing its efforts to collaborate more closely with both the rest of the team and its clients.

Commenting on his appointment, Richard Kramer, said: “With extensive experience of the construction industry garnered during my long career as an architect, I bring a different outlook to Gleeds. My new role promises to be a challenging but a rewarding one. I look forward to supporting the business as it continues to build on its, already considerable, success in the US.”

Richard Steer, chairman of Gleeds Worldwide, said: “As an architect by profession, Richard’s in depth understanding of design and construction will be invaluable as we strive to increase our presence across America. His leadership capabilities, meticulous attention to detail and ability to build fantastic working relationships with both new and existing clients are already paying dividends and I am confident that he will continue to be a real asset to the team.”
